Binational Design: Both entities operate under a unified DBFOMT PPP concession framework — a single integrated platform with ring-fenced SPV structures, shared utilities, and coordinated financing. The 810 ha Eco-Industrial Park spans both sides of the Tanzania–Mozambique border, with each nation's zone governed by its respective registered entity and regulatory framework.
Turning the Ruvuma Basin into East Africa's Energy Engine
Ruvuma Energy was established to unlock the vast energy potential of the Ruvuma Basin — harnessing Mozambique's offshore gas reserves and Tanzania's strategic location to create an integrated platform that serves both nations and the broader East and Southern African region.
The platform integrates four technically interdependent components — LNG liquefaction and export, gas-to-power generation, a transboundary eco-industrial park, and a regional virtual pipeline distribution network — into a single coherently engineered and financed platform.
This is not just infrastructure — it is the foundation for industrial transformation across East Africa, creating lasting economic value for Tanzania, Mozambique, and the communities in the Ruvuma corridor.
Tanzania is the platform anchor — home to Mtwara LNG Ltd, the LNG liquefaction facility, the 300 MW gas-to-power plant, the marine export terminal at Mtwara Port, and the Tanzania half of the 810 ha Eco-Industrial Park.
Mozambique is the gas supply cornerstone — home to Ruvuma Energy Industrial Park, Ltd, the offshore gas pipeline, ENH Area 4 supply, and the Mozambique half of the 810 ha Eco-Industrial Park in Palma District.
